Super sweet because art is subjective.
For the past few days, I’ve been contemplating what to do for Christmas gifts considering I don’t plan on spending a lot of change (and never really do for that matter). For this reason, I decided to be crafty for once. Now, being a fan of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, etc, I took my first serious venture into the world of stenciling. My first attempt at a multilayered one failed, so I decided to walk before I run, and do a face (those appear to be the easiest).
The stencil came out fine. A little rough around the edges, but it looks ok. It came out in two pieces: the head and the frame. This was not necessarily a bad thing as much as it was a hassle to keep assembling it every time I wanted to paint.
Other than cutting it (I didn’t have the x-acto blade I needed for the medium I wanted to use), I found the annoying part was actually painting it, which is the stage I’m currently trying to conquer.
More updates will be made tomorrow when I get more Spray Adhesive. Hopefully the flimsy stencil will still be ok for repeated use.
Update: Spray adhesive wasn’t attained today since stores were closed, and I want to complete this by Sunday, but I think I’m going to end up doing it over again.
